Support Local to Grow the Economy, Dangote Urges Nigerians

President and CEO of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has called on Nigerians to prioritise locally made products as a crucial step toward strengthening the economy and creating employment.
In a video message shared on Saturday by former presidential aide Reno Omokri via X (formerly Twitter), the billionaire industrialist urged citizens to choose Nigerian-made goods over imports, emphasizing that such choices promote self-sufficiency and national prosperity.
“I want to encourage all Nigerians to buy only made-in-Nigeria. When you buy anything made in Nigeria, you are helping to create jobs,” Dangote said. “The only way for us to be a stronger nation is to patronise ourselves.”
A longtime advocate for local production, Dangote’s business empire spans cement, sugar, salt, and now oil refining all aimed at reducing Nigeria’s reliance on foreign goods and boosting domestic industry.
He concluded his message with a note of gratitude and hope, saying: “Thank you for watching, and may God bless you.”
