The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a warning over a fraudulent message circulating online that falsely claims the student loan registration portal is now open.
The misleading post directs applicants to an unauthorised third-party link, which NELFUND has confirmed is fake and should be avoided.
In a statement shared on its official X handle on Tuesday, the agency urged students and the general public not to click the link or submit any personal information. It stressed that the legitimate registration portal can only be accessed through NELFUND’s verified platforms.
The Fund also advised applicants to remain vigilant, verify all announcements through its official website and social media accounts, and report any suspicious links or messages purportedly from NELFUND.
The advisory is part of NELFUND’s broader efforts to protect applicants and maintain the integrity of the student loan application process.
