The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results for the 2024 second series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates. According to WAEC, a total of 43,923 candidates, representing 67.55% of those who sat for the exam, secured credit and above in at least five subjects. This performance marks a notable improvement from previous years, signaling a positive trend in academic achievement among private candidates. The 2024 examination was conducted between October 25 and December 20 and featured a hybrid model, incorporating both computer-based testing and traditional pen-and-paper assessments. WAEC introduced this approach to enhance flexibility and improve the overall examination experience. Candidates can now check their results via the official WAEC result portal, with digital certificates available for immediate download. Hard copies of the certificates are expected to be ready within 90 days of the results’ release. WAEC reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its examinations and ensuring credible assessment processes. The council also urged candidates who have concerns regarding their results to follow the appropriate procedures for inquiries and verification.
