China Calls for Ceasefire and Diplomatic Resolution to Middle East Crisis

China on Monday urged a ceasefire and diplomatic negotiations to bring an end to the Middle East conflict, which has now entered its third day.
“The most urgent task is to halt military operations and prevent the conflict from spreading,” said Mao Ning at a news briefing, emphasizing the need for a “resolution through dialogue and negotiation.”
She also confirmed that one Chinese citizen was killed in Tehran, where Israeli and U.S. strikes targeted the country in an operation that resulted in the death of the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader.
