Darey.io CEO Unveils Plan to Equip Three Million Nigerians with Digital Skills

Dare Oluwafunmilayo, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Darey.io, has announced an ambitious initiative aimed at training over three million Nigerians in essential digital skills. This effort is designed to bridge the country’s technology skills gap and empower the youth for success in the global digital economy.
As part of this initiative, Darey.io has launched a state-of-the-art tech hub in Yaba, Lagos, a key area for Nigeria’s growing technology sector. The hub will serve as a collaborative space where young individuals can develop in-demand digital competencies, connect with industry professionals, and access career development opportunities.
A major component of this plan involves collaboration with the federal government’s Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program, which seeks to train three million people in tech-related fields by 2025. Darey.io has already played a crucial role in this vision, having provided training to over 5,000 individuals over the past four and a half years, with an additional 100,000 currently undergoing various skill-building programs. All training is offered free of charge, emphasizing the commitment to accessible digital education.
Understanding that technical skills alone are not enough for career success, the program also integrates soft skills training, such as communication and teamwork, to enhance employability. Additionally, the Dare Oluwafunmilayo Human Capital Foundation has been launched to support learners by providing essential resources like laptops and stipends, ensuring financial barriers do not hinder participation.
By equipping millions of Nigerians with digital skills, this initiative is set to contribute significantly to the country’s economic transformation, positioning Nigeria as a leading player in the global tech industry.
